According to the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, the total export of photovoltaic products in China reached US $17.74 billion in October, an increase of 32.3 percent over the same period last year, surpassing the total export volume in 2018. Total exports are expected to exceed $20 billion for the whole of 2019.
From the point of view of output, in October, the output of polysilicon increased by 34.6% over the same period last year, and the concentration of enterprises further increased; the output of silicon wafer reached 113.7 gigawatts, an increase of 46.1% over the same period last year, and the new production capacity was mainly distributed in Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Yunnan and other places; the total output of battery chips reached 93.3 gigawatts, an increase of 54.2% over the same period last year; and the output of components reached 83.9 gigawatts, an increase of 31.7% over the same period last year.
According to the International Renewable Energy Agency, photovoltaic power generation will lead the global energy transformation, the global solar installed capacity will reach 2.48 terawatts in 2030 and 8.5 terawatts in 2050, and photovoltaic power generation will account for 13 percent of total power generation in 2030. The cost of solar leveling will fall from $0.085 per kilowatt-hour in 2018 to $0.02 per kilowatt-hour in 2030.
